Calm Your Mind through Meditation and Mindfulness
Join Dance Masters and Builders of a Better World for a special three‑hour Intro to Meditation and Mindfulness Workshop at the Agoura Hills studio on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 pm. The workshop will be held at 30686 Thousand Oaks Blvd, Agoura Hills, CA 91301, where Dance Masters regularly offers group classes, private lessons, and special events in a supportive, creative environment.
Participants are encouraged to dress in comfortable clothing and bring a towel or yoga mat so they can fully relax during guided practices. The standard ticket price is 222 dollars per person, with a discounted early‑bird rate of 111 dollars per person available when registering by January 5 using the code EARLYBIRD.
What you’ll experience
During this introductory workshop, attendees will explore simple, accessible meditation and mindfulness techniques they can use in daily life, both inside and outside the studio. The session will focus on present‑moment awareness, gentle breathwork, and practical tools to quiet mental chatter and create more ease in the body.
In partnership with Builders of a Better World, the workshop also emphasizes personal growth, self‑reflection, and building habits that support a more grounded, intentional lifestyle. Whether completely new to meditation or looking to deepen an existing practice, participants will leave with a clear understanding of how to continue at home.
Benefits for everyday life
Research shows that regular meditation can lower cortisol (the primary stress hormone), reducing feelings of stress and anxiety while helping people feel calmer and more in control. Mindfulness practices also support better emotional regulation and resilience, making it easier to navigate daily challenges without becoming overwhelmed.
Mindfulness meditation has been linked to improved concentration, mental clarity, and overall life satisfaction, as well as better sleep and activation of the body’s relaxation response. Over time, even brief, consistent practice can foster greater self‑awareness and self‑compassion, which are key to long‑term mental and emotional well‑being.
Why dancers will love it
For dancers and movers, mindfulness and meditation can enhance body awareness, alignment, and posture, which are essential for both technique and injury prevention. Focusing on breath and sensation helps dancers notice subtle cues in the body, supporting more fluid movement and a deeper mind‑body connection.
Studies and dance‑education experts note that integrating mindful attention into training can improve concentration, performance quality, and emotional balance onstage and in rehearsal. When combined with regular dance activity, practices like meditation and mindful breathing can also improve balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility while reducing performance‑related stress and anxiety.
How to join
Spaces for the Intro to Meditation and Mindfulness Workshop are limited, so early registration is encouraged to secure a spot and take advantage of the early‑bird discount. Interested participants can purchase tickets and learn more details through the Dance Masters event page and are welcome to contact the studio by phone or email with any questions.
